This agency provides accessible, subsidized transportation to physically-challenged and elderly residents or visitors on St. Thomas; offers hurricane preparedness and aftermath services to this population; and job training to disabled individuals.

Dial-A-Ride, St. John

This agency provides accessible, subsidized transportation to physically and mentally-challenged, and elderly residents or visitors on St. John; it offers services to the home-bound and bulk-shopping in St. Thomas for its clients.


Advocacy & Legal Services

Legal Services of the Virgin Islands

Provides free legal representation and advocacy for the poor, elderly, disabled, victims of domestic violence and abused and neglected children.


Food & Shelter

Catholic Charities of the Virgin Islands

This agency provides shelter and support services to homeless individuals and families with children; case management services for those suffering with mental illnesses; daily soup kitchen meals, counseling and outreach services to homebound elderly clients.

Ebenezer Gardens

This agency provides low income senior citizens with rentsubsidized 1-bedroom apartments and a range of services to assist tenants in living independently.

Habitat for Humanity of the Virgin Islands

Helps moderate income families purchase their own home, while involving volunteers in building the home.

Yellow Cedar Group Home

This agency provides quality residential care and supervision for nine developmentally disabled adults.


Health & Crisis Intervention

American Red Cross

American Red Cross provides disaster preparedness and relief to victims of major and minor disasters; health and safety services which include HIV/AIDS education, CPR and First Aid, swimming and life guard training; and emergency communication between members of the U. S. Armed Forces and their families.


Summer Programs

Lutheran Reformation Summer Program

Summer program designed to upgrade the academic abilities of youth, ages 5-12, plus provide recreational activities and arts and crafts.

St. Andrew’s Sunny Saints Summer Program

This agency provides lessons in basic computer, language arts, math, reading, arts and crafts, sports, field trips, music, Bible, baking and serving.

St. Thomas Reformed Church Summer Program

Summer day camp provides certified swimming instruction, music, crafts, recreation and Bible study for children ages 4-12.


Youth Development

Virgin Islands Council, Inc., Boy Scouts of America

In partnership with community organizations, this agency provides leadership training, career education, social skills development and community service activities for youth ages 6 to 20.

Civil Air Patrol

An auxiliary arm of the U.S. Air Force, this agency trains youth, ages 12-18 in aviation, instills discipline, encourages academic excellence, and promotes community service. Members assist the community in times of emergencies.

Savan Boys’ Club

The club helps at-risk children go straight and stay straight by developing youths educationally, socially, culturally, and recreationally. Some of the activities include Toastmasters, Spanish, computer, basic mechanics, basketball, baseball, and swimming.

V.I. Institute for Teaching and Learning, Inc.

This agency provides training and resources for young people, teachers and parents to stimulate reading, critical thinking and communications skills through its Mother Goose reading program, Chess in Schools and Health Connection Plus’ and conflict resolution program.


Venture Grants
