WELCOME NEW BOARD MEMBERS!
Since 1978, the United Way of St. Thomas-St. John has been governed by a 25-member, volunteer board of directors. We welcome ten new committed, concerned Virgin Islands citizens, who were sworn in at our Annual Meeting on March 31st. To meet their governing responsibilities, board members participate in monthly board meetings, serve on one or more of United Way’s ten Committees, ensure the success of the fundraising drive and financial accountability of the organization and plan for its future. We thank these dedicated individuals for their service.

EDUCATION DIVISION PLANS OCTOBER 2007 DISTRICT WIDE CAMPAIGN
Campaign Education Division Head, Sinclair Wilkinson, met with representatives from schools and made plans to conduct the 2007 campaign in the schools as a district wide activity during the month of October. Educators made commitments to serve as volunteer coordinators at The Education Coordinator Training held in May. Sinclair Wilkinson challenged educators to meet the goal to increase staff and faculty contributions to United Way by payroll deduction by 50% in the upcoming campaign.
DEVELOPMENT INTERN Pennela Chapman is assisting with our expanded program to thank donors, building a new database of contributors, and helping to produce our newsletter. United Way of St. Thomas-St. John welcomes Pennela!
COMING SOON: 2007 Campaign Brochure and DVD
Communications Chair, Bob Austin and committee members have been hard at work producing new campaign printed materials and a brand new DVD to be shared in presentations during our 2007 campaign. Board member Pete Mabe, Pacesetters Committee Chair, is to be commended for the new Pacesetter brochure. Many thanks to volunteer graphic artist, Robin Downes.
