| 8th ANNUAL DAY OF CARING AT WINSTON RAYMO CENTER |
VOLUNTEERS REVITALIZE WINSTON RAYMO CENTER ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 22nd
Winston Raymo Center was revitalized by United Way board members and volunteers from Civil Air Patrol, Downstreet People, Catholic Charities, Ebenezer Gardens, Marriott Frenchman’s Reef, Dept. of Housing, Parks and Recreation, and youth from area schools. Gallons of paint, brushes, scrapers, ladders, shovels and weed-wackers removed layers of old paint and weeds that were replaced by freshly painted walls, green groundcover and flowers that now beautify the front of the building. Volunteers also tackled the grass, weeds and vines that covered the playground, and painted the lobby and recreation rooms from a glaring gold to a soft blue. New bleachers near the basketball courts were installed and freshly painted. Many thanks to businesses that donated supplies including Bay Painters, The Paint Depot, Sea Chest, Coca Cola Bottling Company, Frank’s Bakery, Fruit Bowl, Value Food and Source One Supplies. Many thanks to Marriott Frenchman’s Reef and Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort, which donated lunch for all the volunteers!
